Rice and corn cakes are quite popular among health-conscious individuals. Their ease of use, along with qualities like crispiness and tastiness, make them an excellent snack option. From a nutritional perspective, these cakes have several features that enhance their dietary value.
Whole grains
Rice cake technology has evolved over the years, and today’s rice cakes are no longer just made from white rice. Our goal at Good Food Products is to create products that provide additional health benefits. Therefore, we use whole, unpolished grains of rice (brown rice) and corn in production. These grains are richer in fiber, which is known to have positive effects on the body: it lowers cholesterol levels, reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases, improves digestion, and prevents constipation.
Valuable additions
Additionally, we create recipes enriched with valuable ingredients such as quinoa, sorghum, millet, chia seeds, sesame seeds, etc. These ingredients are not chosen randomly—we focus on those with proven positive health effects. Many of them are known as superfoods, rich in nutrients, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber.
Toppings and flavours without MSG
Our range also includes a growing segment of flavoured rice cakes, where we use various flavours and toppings. One of our principles is to choose toppings that do not contain MSG, such as monosodium glutamate. Excessive consumption of MSG has been shown to cause accelerated heart rate, dizziness, and a general feeling of anxiety.
Non-frying process
The final value of the product is influenced not only by the type of raw materials used but also by the production process itself. Unlike many salty snacks, our rice cakes are not fried. This means they do not contain harmful trans fats, which contribute to the development of atherosclerosis and heart diseases. Our rice cakes are made through extrusion, which involves applying high temperature and pressure directly to the grains, without the need for intermediate forms of raw material processing.
And what about caloric content?
Due to the use of whole grains (rice, corn, seeds), rice cakes are not a low-calorie product, as they contain naturally occurring fats, proteins, and carbohydrates in the grains. However, compared to other popular snacks, they are very favourable, with much lower caloric content. For example, the caloric content per 100g of product is approximately 500-600 kcal for potato chips, 400-500 kcal for pretzels, and 350-400 kcal for rice cakes.
