Rice and corn cakes can have many flavour variants, but they combine common characteristics – simple composition, they are gluten free, have no preservatives, and they are baked not fried. Made exclusively of natural grains and additives as an alternative to normal bread, as well as a delicious snack itself. Here are steps necessary for a simple grain to become a crunchy cake.

1. Selection and preparation of seeds – every good baker knows that the tastiest bread can be cooked only with well-selected, authentic ingredients. The same applies to the cakes. Choosing the right cereal varieties, the most suitable ones for baking, preparing them properly, including the optimum conditions such as temperature, humidity and time, are key elements of the first stage of the production.
2. Blending the baking mix – maintaining the perfect balance of flavours is an art, so it is important to develop the right recipe for cakes, including the preparation of an authentic mixture of baking grains. This stage of production takes place in large tanks – mixers.
3. The baking process – single cake baking process lasts less than a few seconds and is based on unique technology. During the process, the full grains (not displaced into flour) are directly heat treated in specially designed furnaces. Under the influence of pressure and temperature, the grains are popping into a round, crispy cakes. The unique process of baking the grains – not the dough – makes Good Food cakes fluffy and crispy at the same time.
4. Flavouring/covering – some of the cakes retain their natural rice or corn flavour, some are seasoned with salt or other spices, and some are coated with chocolate.
5. Packaging – still smelling corn or rice and ready to eat cakes enter the packing zone – there at first they’re packed in single packages, then in cartons. Produced and packed cakes have long shelf life – up to 12 months!
6. Distribution – properly packaged cakes are placed in the warehouse where are expecting for transport. From there they will hit the stores and be waiting for crunch thirsty customers on the shelves.
